Alloy A286, or as also referred to by its trade names Incoloy A286 or 1.4980 is an age hardened superalloy. In retrospect, like most superalloy grades, the fasteners produced in this alloy have a higher tensile strength and they exhibit excellent corrosion resistance behaviour even up to a temperature of 1300°F. The 1.4980 Bolt produced according to Engish standard DIN EN 10269 can be applied to both elevated as well as low temperature environments.

Although the Stainless Steel 1.4980 threaded rod is well suited to be used in applications that involve elevated temperatures, the alloy will perform very well if it is used to cater to low pressured applications. Non-magnetic in nature, this high strength material is able to retain its good tensile strength properties, even down to a temperature of about -320°F. Typically, the 1.4980 stainless steel fasteners are used in the production of turbines, power generation components as well as jet engine components.


A thin, usually disk shaped SS 1.4980 Washers are to be produced with a hole in the centre and are used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener such as a nut or bolt. BS DIN EN 10269 stud bolts is essentially a threaded rod which contains 2 heavy hexagon nuts. Stud bolts are usually seen in industries such as petrochemical and chemical industry, where they are used in flange connection. The temperature in the fore mentioned industries often are extremely high and hence, they require durable fasteners such as the Stainless Steel 1.4980 Nuts.
