Being an alloy belonging to the Inconel family group, there is bound to be some overlaps with regards to their properties. A commonality between most Inconel alloys and the Inconel 600 Fasteners is that the alloy can be used at elevated temperatures up unto a range of 2000°F.

While the corrosion resistance properties of the alloy are commendable at high temperature environments, it is the use of Inconel 600 screws in cryogenic temperature that has piqued the interest of many clients belonging to the aerospace and refrigeration industry. Moreover, cryogenic applications for the Inconel 600 hex bolts can range from being used in the production of medical equipments where blood and tissues are stored at extremely low temperatures. Or experimental samples are preserved at these temperatures where conventionally used alloys if exposed to such settings, are often susceptible to getting damaged.


Since the ASTM B166 uns n06600 threaded rod is not precipitation hardenable by heat treatment, the alloy is cold worked. Cold working the alloy is what gives the Inconel 600 Bolts and Nuts its impressive properties of superior hardness and good tensile strength. Although it is noted that Inconel 600 has great impact strength at room temperatures, the Inconel 600 nuts are able to retain its impact strength, even on exposure to lower temperatures. This property has been attributed to the non-existance of the alloy’s tough to brittle transition phase that usually occurs at low temperatures across other alloys. Furthermore, the Alloy 600 studs also has good fatigue strength as well.
