What is ASTM A307?
The ASTM A307 standard specifies the chemical and mechanical properties of three classes of carbon steel bolts and studs in defined sizes. Carbon Steel ASTM A307 Lag Screw, thread cutting / forming screws, mechanical expansion anchors, and other related externally threaded fasteners are not covered by the ASTM A307 Bolts standard. As tested, samples must meet prescribed values for chemical composition, hardness, tensile strength, yield point, elongation, and dimensions. These A307 Stainless Steel Hex Nuts are developed, produced, and tested to meet ASTM A307 chemical composition, hardness, tensile strength, yield point, elongation, and dimensional accuracy criteria.
ASTM A307 Bolts vs Anchor Bolts
ASTM A307 bolts are carbon steel and have a diameter range of 14 inches to 4 inches. In this standard, three primary classes are designated as A, B, and C, which are frequently produced from A36 round bars.
Difference between ASTM A307 Grade A, Grade B and Grade C
Astm A307 Grade A Bolts are general-purpose headed bolts, threaded rods, and bent bolts. The Heavy hex bolts and studs for flanged joints are grade B. The ASME SA307 Grade C Hex Bolt may be tightened using tools and a high torque force. Type C bolts are anchor bolts with no heads. These are meant for structural use and can be bent or straight. This section will protrude from the concrete framework.
ASTM A307 Carbon Steel Metric Bolts and others in grade A have a minimum tensile strength of 60ksi, whereas grade B can vary from 60 to 100ksi and grade C from 58 to 80ksi. The ASTM a307 stud bolt is utilised in applications that need the stud. The substance contains carbon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulphur.
